Yes! You can shoot with a digital camera and create beautiful black & white images from color files. Converting color files, using Photoshop, allows you to achieve equivalent, perhaps better, than traditional darkroom. And everyone can do it! This workshop reviews at least six ways to convert, from easy to more complex, and gives you lots of practice with sample photos. Photoshop experience required.

There's nothing like a beautiful black and white photograph! Black and white reveals vlaues, texture, form and detail that can be lost in a color photograph. And you can use Photoshop's digital darkroom to produce prints that radiate with a range of values from soft whites to brilliant blacks.

Wondering how? Susanna MacKenzie Euston applies her many years of black and white film and chemical darkroom experience to achieving comparable (or better!) results in the digital darkroom. She will teach conversion techniques that will allow you to produce brilliant black and white prints, ones that you will love to share.

This workshop will be presented using slide presentation, demonstration and one-on-one instruction. You will receive a CD with photo samples and handouts. Photoshop experience, with non-destructive editing of digital files, is required.

Required: Photoshop experience required! I can't say this enough. This is an advanced class and time will NOT be spent reviewing basic Photoshop processing!

For special CNPA workshop on June 7, bringing a laptop computer is optional.
